If you are like most city, county or state municipalities - you are wasting time using the wrong software tool for the job. Your storm, snow and ice removal program should provide real VALUE. You need a plan that works in any weather situation. You need a cost breakdown of each employee, contractor, vehicle and salt. You don't have hundreds of hours to spend compiling logs and papers. You need an accountant. The silent type. And time's a wastin'.

Are your snow removal tools budget conscious?

Having written software to help manufacturing companies TRIM COSTS back in the early 1980's (remember the days when we had manufacturing companies in the USA?), I am amazed at how little VALUE current software tools actually provide. Most software is either too GENERIC to be useful for specific needs, or it wastes your time by capturing useless information that has no VALUE.

Where did all the "common sense" go?

I have worked in the software design business since the early 1980's. Back then, the approach to problem solving - meant we would TALK with YOU to understand your BUSINESS. We got to know your job, inside and out. We took notes as to WHAT problems needed to be solved, how things were working for you NOW, and how to help you DO IT BETTER.

No, not the same, not worse, but BETTER.

Time is money.

It is unthinkable to deliver a software solution that makes a task MORE time consuming or MORE confusing. This, is not "a solution" - and it should be instantly rejected by your municipality.

In the early days, software designers were considered master craftsmen. It was an ART to be able to take a COMPLEX problem, and SIMPLIFY it. We measured success when we heard you say "Hey, why didn't I think of that?".

Good software tools were tweaked and tweaked until no more VALUE could be delivered. Some call this "old school". I call it common sense.

In 1992, I began working with city and county governments. I help municipalities deliver faster services to their constituents through automation. I help transform municipality snow and ice removal efforts - into SMART, budget conscious, programs. And in the process, I've seen it all.

From solutions that made sense, to those that wasted taxpayer dollars. From effective tools to help coordinate work efforts, to those that increased the work load. I've watched smart people make very stupid decisions. I have watched MY SOFTWARE INDUSTRY over a period of 25 years, become uninterested in solving YOUR problems and delivering VALUE to your efforts. But, there is hope.

Good software is a tool to help you do your job, period
.
It should help you PLAN, ORGANIZE, MONITOR, ANALYZE, RESEARCH and DISSEMINATE information - better than you can already. With the power of spreadsheets, and office productivity tools, you can achieve some of these benefits individually. The problem, is putting the "big picture" together.

With 17 years of delivering software tools
designed specifically FOR municipal snow managers, YOU can have the Bottom Line. You can have VALUE. You can have a silent accountant keeping track of every cost and activity. You can stay budget conscious - and clear the roadways of snow. I will show you how.
